Unlock Your Unique Feminine Genius:
A Guide for Women Who Want to Change the World by Becoming the Women God Created Them to Be
Bridget Marie O. Alabi
“If only you knew the gift of God…”
This was what Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well. That Jesus fully empathised with the struggles of women in His time was evident throughout the Gospel. He understood the structural injustice that they faced; for instance, the woman caught in adultery who was about to be stoned while the man was not given a second thought (Jn 8:3-11) or how He re-instituted the true nature of marriage and taught that women could not just be dismissed with a writ of divorce (Mk 10:2-9).
He also recognised the burden of lack of self-worth that we women often carry within ourselves as seen in the case of the Samaritan woman who was with her fifth husband. He witnessed the strength that we are capable of; women following him on his missionary journey, standing with Him at the cross and seeking Him after the resurrection.
If only you knew the gift of God… If only you and I truly knew the inestimable gift of our femininity, we would hold our heads up with Divine pride and set about lighting the world and the Church with the fire of God’s love. We would refuse to be relegated to the background or ignored; we would transform our-selves, our families, our societies and the world.
It is my hope and prayer that this book serves as a match to that powerful fire you carry within yourself. That it helps you to truly know that you are the gift of God and that you can use your femininity to transform your corner of the world because that is exactly what God wants you to do.
While you can read this book on its own, you would get more out of it if you use it together with Your Unique Feminine Genius Workbook. It can be found on Amazon or at www.catholicwomennetwork.org.
It is my prayer that this book contributes to the movement that Pope Paul VI talked about at the 2nd Vatican council;
“But the hour is coming, in fact has come, when the vocation of woman is being achieved in its fullness, the hour in which woman acquires in the world an influence, an effect and a power never hitherto achieved. That is why, at this moment when the human race is under-going so deep a transformation, women impregnated with the spirit of the Gospel can do so much to aid mankind in not falling.”
(Pope Paul VI, 1965).
I invite you join the movement because together we can make an impact so strong it renews the world.
Yours in Christ,
